With boldness

"For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:19-21

The apostle Paul lived such an impactful life for Christ. These verses in his epistle to the church at Philippi really stand out to me as an explanation for the magnitude of his life. Paul's hope and expectation was such that Christ would be magnified BOLDLY in his life. Honestly, Paul didn't care what that meant either, be it death or continuing to live his life day in and day out for Jesus. He just wanted to bring glory to God and grow His kingdom.

Imagine what this world might look like if believers lived for Christ like Paul did. I'm working to see this changed in my life. I'm studying His Word, spending time in prayer and desiring to be bold like Paul, to proclaim Jesus in all that I do-not just at church or with my family, but in every encounter and every moment. I want every breath to bring glory to God.

Let's be bold for Jesus and see His Kingdom grow and His name be magnified!

a bit of honesty

In September 2011, I opened up this little corner of the interwebs. I wrote on and off and eventually quit writing at all. I never let myself just write. My goal was to grow this little site into a crazy popular mom blog and have sponsored posts and make a little supplemental income for my family. My heart wasn't in the right spot. I got too wrapped up in statistics and comments and how quickly my blog wasn't growing.

So I'm hoping to get back to writing, to truly writing.....not just telling what happened in our day and hoping someone finds it interesting. I pray that this little corner of the Internet will grow into a place where I can share what's on my heart, what I'm learning in the Word, and offer encouragement to other mamas (and to encourage myself) who are deep in the trenches of motherhood.

I'm not funny. I'm not really that witty. I like to read and learn and share. I want to encourage mamas to be in the Word, not the world, and to ensure them that they were created and placed here for such a time as this.

As mamas, we need to be in all of these little moments and doing our best to teach Jesus to our littles...because this world needs more of Jesus and more of Him in us.

Praying for blessings upon this space!

Easter 2013

There aren't many photos from our Easter weekend. Lots of time went by playing with Resurrection Eggs and spending time with family.

Because sometimes, you just need a good bubble bath

Around here, bubble baths serve a multitude of purposes...... They heal booboos, make sickies go away, instantly lift moods, turn a bad, busy day into good.
We all love a good bubble bath!
The proof is in the picture:

The resulting disaster is totally worth it.

holy cow....

And......it's the end of March.

how in the world?

My little 'I'm going to be present......' turned into I'm not going to document anything for the first three months of 2013.

My big camera has been neglected. read not used at.all.

The only photos I have are on my phone. But we have been having a good time. 2013 has been fantastic so far. except the kidney stone that won't.go.away.  three weeks and counting people. and the dog that won't stay in her pen. who destroyed my freshly painted garage. excuse me while I go pull my hair out.

The little people are doing great. Sister is deep into her 3rd season of softball. She's playing first base and loving every.single.second. except getting trampled last night. She wasn't a fan and cried for the remainder of the ball game. She reads and spells. Counts by tens. Knows her money values and can count them out. She is such a sweet, smart, funny girl who likes to pretend that she's shy. She's caring and passionate. She's talented on the ball field and eager to practice and improve. We absolutely couldn't love her more. She is joy.

Brother Bear is absolutely hilarious. He keeps us on our toes and pulling out our hair. He writes and recognizes his name. He can count and say his ABC's. Sister is teaching him sayings to help him learn his money values. He is a wonderful friend. whether you're 1 or 10 or 30, he is fantastic to be with, to play with, to love. His friends at school all want to be "Hutt's buddy". He loves to ride his bike, play football and soccer. He's fast and mischievous. He likes to scale the cabinets to find snack and candy. He is absolutely the most compassionate little man I've ever met. He is laughter and love. Our world wouldn't be the same without our little man. We absolutely couldn't love him more, yet we love him more everyday.

Here's to the rest of 2013. And hopefully, much more documentation and pictures. on the nice camera.
